Two kinds of housing stock in one city
A pre-war four-square in Hyde Park and a 2015 build in Briarcliff have almost nothing in common. The old core means painted wood trim, storm windows, radiators, plaster, and basements that have been filling up since the Truman administration. The Northland means vinyl, engineered surfaces, and finished basements that flooded once. We quote them as the different jobs they are.
